Hägring (mirage)

Hägring revisits texts and symbols that recur throughout Christensson’s practice, allowing them to shift in meaning over time. A text written by the artist is carefully calligraphed onto faded fabric by her mother, making the work both deeply personal and collaborative. The act of rewriting becomes an act of care, while repetition echoes the way memory and trauma return—persisting in the body, in vision, and in the stories that continue to be told. The work explores how memory lingers—not as a fixed image, but as something that repeatedly appears, dissolves, and re-emerges. Like a mirage, these traces hover between presence and absence, between warning and protection.
